Unified description of fluids and solids in Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics

• First successful discretization of the unified model continuum mechanics with an SPH scheme. Single PDE system, single scheme for fluids and solids. Instead typical hydrodynamics, we discretize Symmetric Hyperbolic Thermodynamically Compatible equations (SHTC), which describe fluids, elastic solids, visco-elasto-plastic within framework. The resulting SHTC-SPH then tested on various benchmarks from hydrodynamics dynamics shows remarkable agreement data.
